Truk Lagoon

Among the greatest of wreck diving destinations in the world,
the WWII Japanese shipwrecks of Micronesia's Truk Lagoon serve as poignant
evidence of the ravages of war - and of nature's ability to triumph.

Situated in a vast lagoon surrounding the Pacific island of "Chuuk,"
the wrecks are dived mostly from live-aboards, of which there are several.
While many of the sites are within recreational dive limits, most are beyond "novice"
diver depths - and many more are restricted to tech divers. Local dive guides
are required by law, and souvenier-collecting is strictly prohibited.
